Numerous studies and projects are underway

"Mie Cāline Distribution", the new shipment of the Mie Cāline stores platform, is now operational. With 5.3 million euros invested in a tool in respectful of ecological and economic of the planet, the company issues vendéenne is now model for sustainable development.

Production, distribution, logistics: Mie Cāline engages in a circle virtuous, respectful of ecological and economic global issues.

Born in 1985, Cāline Mie is located in St-Jean-de-Monts (Vendée) on a covered surface of 17.000 m. It is now one of most important French cooking terminals: 191 stores, 1 800 franchisees and employees, 40 million customers served... for a cumulative sales network 2009 127 M (i.e. growth of 3.2 from 2008). Certified ISO 9001 since 2004, "The Mie Cāline Production" employs more than 220 people. 20 000 tonnes of finished products are delivered each year to the stores (raw or pre-cooked frozen). This site has a capacity of 20,000 m3 and, since 1999 negative cold storage, a subsidiary logistics integrated the MM (70 employees and 8 platforms of redistribution). Since January 2010, "The Mie Cāline Distribution" channels the whole of the supply of stores. On the same site, "The Mie Cāline Services" (ISO 9001 certified since 2007) and its 60 employees accompanied the expansion of the network under sign.

The challenge of a green industry it was for the Mie Cāline create activity for distribution of fresh products and packaging. At the same time, the challenge is to accompany the growth of the production (12,500 m2) site which the surface will increase 3 500 m in 2010 to accommodate a new procedure for the production of pre-cooked bread. In the concern for responsible for industrial policy, the creation of the distribution platform incorporates a concept of sustainable development. At the same time, development on the current site of manufacturing products are committed to meet green requirements of present and future generations.

Started in March 2009, this project led by the industrial branch of the sign through:

-The management of the water: 4 600 m3 of water saved in one year (annual consumption of 30 households) - recovery system of rainwater for truck cleaning and sanitation of the platform. -Condensers cooling water recovery. -Words of sanitary water.

-Energy savings: 1 400 000 Kw/h per year (annual consumption of 150 households) - implementation of solar membrane on the roof (production 40,000 Kw/h per year). -Implementation of a roof vegetated to regulate the temperature of the offices (reduction of the use of air conditioning and heating). -Installation of a heat pump. -Refrigeration gas energy recovery to produce sanitary hot water and heating the offices. -Implementation of a solar water heater for the production of hot water of the R & D laboratory and the preheating of the water used for the production process. -Reorganization and optimization of the lighting system. -Extension of the centralized technical management system to control the energy consumption of the sites.

-Waste management:-recycling of waste (selective buckets - weighing, measuring, and compaction of volumes - retention of liquids development - reclamation of waste) and reduction in the volume of waste upstream. -Construction of an ecological wastewater with beds of reeds for the treatment of sludge.

-A more environmentally friendly cleaning:-Construction of a washing station trucks with use of rainwater and by a system of solar water heating. -Adoption of a steam system dry cleaning lines and soil to limit the use of detergents. -Use of cleaning products based on enzymes, more respectful of the environment.

N.B.: In September 2008, the Mie Cāline created a working group "Sustainable development". Note among the environmental measures taken by the sign in 2009: the removal of the plastic bags distributed to consumers (i.e., a reduction of emission of nearly 800 tons of C0) in March 2009, the Mie Cāline joined the Club generation Manager brings in its College of signs such as L'Occitane, Monceau flowers, Happy, Rapid flora, Truffaut, group Yves RocherHSBC France...
